"Do you love me?" Sidney asked, leaning against Randy as they stared at the fire.
"Always," Randy assured her.
Sidney sat up and looked at him, turning around. “Then what are you afraid of?” she asked. She stood up and pulled off her shirt, leaving her in a black-laced bra. She dropped the shirt to the ground by Randy’s feet. She flashed him a smile then ran towards the lake, freeing herself of the rest of her clothing.
Randy wasted no time. He stood up, quickly dealing with his belt. A few short minutes later, he jumped into the lake behind her. They laughed as they splashed at eachother for a few minutes.
Sid wrapped her arms around him, making everything grow silent. They had never been this close before- never this intimate. They stared at eachother for a moment, feeling what they never thought they’d feel before.
The scar on Randy’s neck caught her eye. Images flooded through her mind. Randy, lying the back of the van, his eyes wide open. He was barely breathing. Not moving. Nearly dead. The blood, covered his body, dripping out of the van and onto the pavement below. The cuts. The stab wounds. His neck, still bleeding.
"Sid?" Randy said to get her attention. Sid gasped as she returned to the present, looking at Randy’s eyes. She stared a moment before holding him tightly, burying herself in his neck, weeping.
